lyrics

Do you ever wish that you could turn the hourglass on its side, stop the earth from spinning, and find someplace to hide? Do you ever wish you had a way to make the world freeze-frame, some time to take a step back while things all stayed the same?

One day I’m gonna travel West so fast, I’ll find a way to make this moment last,
and blur the line where present meets the past.

Someone told me time was an invention, a way to add some order to these moments and events. I guess somehow they just forgot to mention how fast the whole thing always came and went.

Does it ever seem you’ve missed a train that you should’ve gotten on? You’re running along side it, knowing soon it will be gone. And all your friends on board don’t even wave as they look back. Can they hear you calling out, as you stumble down the track?

Cause I know this spinning Earth can be outrun, and I can catch up to the setting Sun, and start this whole day over at square one.

Someone told me time was an invention, a way to add some order to these moments and events. I guess somehow they just forgot to mention how fast the whole thing always came and went.
