Track Name: Stand and Hold It Up
I've heard love can shine as bright as the sun, it can burn like a bright blue flame. Lately we flicker weak like a candle in the middle of a pouring rain.

I've heard love can be as deep as an ocean, as wide as the river Nile. You and I trickle by, running dry, like we’ve been under the heat for a while.

We were walking on the clouds until it rained and we fell too. Now the sky is falling down and I don’t know what else I can do...

...But try to stand and hold it up with my two hands just long enough to understand that giving up means saying goodbye.

I know love can mend a broken soul, love can make you heal. But sometimes you're left paralyzed, too numb to even feel.

We were walking on the clouds until it rained and we fell through. Now the sky is falling down and I don’t know what else I can do...

...But try to stand and hold it up with my two hands just long enough to understand that giving up means saying goodbye. Before my weary arms give way and we're pinned down and we're forced to stay, I'll stand and I'll watch you walk away, then wonder why, why, why… (x2)
Track Name: Wake Yourself
You run in circles for a living in a world so unforgiving. You work your fingers to the bone so the bank can own your home. Working hard or hardly working, bill collector’s always lurking, breathing heavy down your neck, waiting for your next paycheck.

Shake yourself and wake yourself, remember that this life goes by too fast for overtime, and dollar signs, and bottom lines that never really last.

You work smart, you work hard, keep your head down and punch your card while months and years just pass you by. You look up just in time to die.

Kiss some ass to get a raise, save up those vacation days. Climb the ladder to get ahead, you can sleep it off after you're dead.

Shake yourself and wake yourself, remember that this life goes by too fast for overtime, and dollar signs, and bottom lines that never really last.

Pennies saved and pennies earned, they can’t replace the time you’ve burned. So why kill two birds with a stone when you can leave the birds alone?

Shake yourself and wake yourself, remember that this life goes by too fast for overtime, and dollar signs, and bottom lines that never really last.
Track Name: Time Was an Invention
Do you ever wish that you could turn the hourglass on its side, stop the earth from spinning, and find someplace to hide? Do you ever wish you had a way to make the world freeze-frame, some time to take a step back while things all stayed the same?

One day I’m gonna travel West so fast, I’ll find a way to make this moment last,
and blur the line where present meets the past.

Someone told me time was an invention, a way to add some order to these moments and events. I guess somehow they just forgot to mention how fast the whole thing always came and went.

Does it ever seem you’ve missed a train that you should’ve gotten on? You’re running along side it, knowing soon it will be gone. And all your friends on board don’t even wave as they look back. Can they hear you calling out, as you stumble down the track?

Cause I know this spinning Earth can be outrun, and I can catch up to the setting Sun, and start this whole day over at square one.

Someone told me time was an invention, a way to add some order to these moments and events. I guess somehow they just forgot to mention how fast the whole thing always came and went.
Track Name: If We've Changed
The objects in my rear view are closer than they appear, so I’m stepping on the gas and getting far away from here.

All I’m taking with me is what fits in my backseat, and the clothes upon my back, and the shoes upon my feet.

I don’t know where I may go, but I’m trying to lay low. I'm taking each day slowly as it comes.

I could never stop this car, it’s moving much too fast away from things I’ve left behind. I don’t know if who we are is who we were in the past, it’s what I’m setting out to find… but if we’ve changed I wouldn’t mind.

I keep catching my reflection in the storefronts as I pass, and I can’t say I recognize the figure in the glass. I don’t know these people here and I know they don’t know me, but I’m starting to enjoy a little peace and privacy.

But if we’ve changed I wouldn’t mind, a love like ours is hard to find. You’re different now but you're still mine.
Track Name: Mountain
The path that lies ahead of us is steeper and less kind than the old well-traveled road that you chose to leave behind. But I know if we set out now, the things that we could find could make it worth the effort, 'cause I know it’s worth the time.

And from way down here the mountain seems so high, from the bottom you can’t see the view. But even if the walk is hard I’ll try, as long as I am walking next to you.

If the storm clouds gather, turn the sky a scary shade of grey, and the cold rain soaks our clothing and puts puddles in our way, I’ll find a place for you and me to huddle up and stay, until the earth is dry again, another sunny day.

And from way down here the mountain seems so high, from the bottom you can’t see the view. But even if the walk is hard I’ll try, as long as I am walking next to you.

And when your feet they start to ache, and when your back’s about to break, you're slipping every step you take, just reach out your hand. I'll hold you up and stand you tall, make sure you never, ever, ever fall. You know I'll understand...

And from way down here the mountain seems so high, from the bottom you can’t see the view. But even if the walk is hard I’ll try, as long as I am walking next to you.
Track Name: Dust Bowl
April, 1935, a blanket falls across the sky. It’s hard to see, and it's hard to breathe. The grit, it grinds between your teeth.

Nowhere to hide no time to run, the cloud snuffs out the midday sun. No shadows fall where there’s no light, it’s going on noon and dark as night.

Jesus turned the water into wine, can he turn these teardrops into whiskey or moonshine? ‘Cause I need something stronger and I’m looking to the sky. I’ve got troubles overflowing and my cup is running dry.

Out across the battered plains, no water here but still it rains. This dusty wave will wash us out, a landlocked flood brought on by drought.

So stay inside and gasp for air, lock your doors and say your prayers, and hope the good Lord shines his face, upon this barren, arid place.

Jesus turned the water into wine, can he turn these teardrops into whiskey or moonshine? ‘Cause I need something stronger and I’m looking to the sky. I’ve got troubles overflowing and my cup is running dry. (x2)
Track Name: Uninvited September
Uninvited September is getting really near, but I'm not gonna let it in this year.
The leaves, they will remain, and the heat will do the same. No school for kids, at home they'll stay.

Stay away September, you aren't welcome in my city. Why don't you ride a rocket to the sun? And no, I won't come. Stay away September, chill out with October. Could you tell November that he and December aren't welcome until I say?

Where's mister magical weatherman when I want him? He could wave his wand and freeze this forecast now. Instead I've gotta play the enemy, and greet this month less than friendily, holding up a sign saying turn around.

Stay away September, you aren't welcome in my city. Why don't you ride a rocket to the sun? And no, I won't come. Stay away September, chill out with October. Could you tell November that he and December aren't welcome until I say?

I slept with my window cracked last night and I woke up tight in my own hold. I felt my face and sure enough it was unusually cold. How could I have possibly avoided such a thing? I put my fists in the air, protesting all the changes that this month would surely bring.

Uninvited September is getting really near. I'm not gonna let it in...
Track Name: Skeletons
Too many skeletons in your closet. You’ve kept them locked away for years, in that small, dark room where you deposit a lifetime’s worth of guilt and fears.

Open up the door and show your past the light of day, and all the hurtful history that you’ve tried to keep at bay will crumble into dust and ash and then be swept away.

It can’t hurt you now. (x3)

They’re hung on hangers and stacked in piles in the corners of your mind, the bones of half-truths and denials you hoped no one would ever find.

Open up the door and show your past the light of day, and all the hurtful history that you’ve tried to keep at bay will crumble into dust and ash and then be swept away.

It can’t hurt you now. (x3)

I don't know why I waited for so long behind the eyes and behind the songs.
Track Name: Simpler Time
When I think back to my young years everything feels so detached, so many stories and so many memories that I am finding hard to bring on back.

So I need some help remembering with photo books and old magazines. Pop me back like a tape cassette, and let me relive my dreams.

So I can get back to the simpler time when life was something I could still understand, and the future was mine, back before things got out of hand.

Faces of friends are all fading fast, like photos from the analog age. They yellow and tear and I lose a few, every time I turn a new page.

Time doesn't stop, no it doesn't slow, you can't push rewind. So I keep what I can and I carry on, and I leave the rest behind.

How can I get back to the simpler time when life was something I could still understand, and the future was mine, back before things got out of hand?
Track Name: What It Is
Don't call me baby, I've been grown now for a while. Don't call me darling and treat me like a child.

Don't call me dear 'cause it's cheap and insincere. Let's you and me get one thing clear.

Don't call me names, don't play those game, don't you put a little label on me. You can call me who I am, and we can call it what it is. Yeah, we can call it off and we can both be free.

Don't call me honey, because that sweetness has grown sour. Don't tell me I'm your sunshine, I'm getting darker by the hour.

Don't call me dear 'cause it's cheap and insincere. Let's you and me get one thing clear.

Don't call me names, don't play those game, don't you put a little label on me. You can call me who I am, and we can call it what it is. Yeah, we can call it off and we can both be free. (x2)
Track Name: Out of Town
By now you oughta know 'cause I told you long ago, I would hit the road, pack up and go. Things have been so wrong for so very very long, I'm sick of always feeling so low.

By now you oughta see 'cause it's very plain to me, I should blow this scene, just up and leave. I hear the lies you spin, the veneer of truth is thin, I don't know what I should believe.

So I gotta get outta town. You can look around. I'm nowhere to be found. 'Cause I'm outta town.

By now you realize and you shouldn't be surprised, you've seen it with your eyes, I wasn't telling lies. I made up my mind just to leave it all behind, no goodbyes, I'm just cutting ties.

So I gotta get outta town. You can look around. I'm nowhere to be found. 'Cause I'm outta town.

I can't take it anymore, so I left this letter at your door to tell you why I'm not around, 'cause I'm getting out, I'm getting out of town.

You can look around. I'm nowhere to be found. Because I'm outta town.
